Earth Hour is Drawing Close

On Saturday March 26th at 8:30 pm it is Earth Hour. If you have never heard of this, Earth hour is a growing movement which asks that we switch off our lights and appliances for one hour in an effort to show our support for the more action to be taken to slow down or help with climate change.

As Patti Wigington from About.com says "This not a partisan issue, it's not a political one, it's simply a chance to take an hour out of your schedule and cut back on your energy consumption".

On this occasion you're not being asked for money or even to show your support by travelling to far-flung places to participate in a demo. All you are being asked to do is turn off your lights and any electrical items at 8:30 pm, maybe light a few candle and read a book for a while, tell ghost stories. It's not hard but it will give our world a chance.

One hour, that is all.
