What are the odds?

So this morning I was in the kitchen filling the sink with water so I could wash the breakfast dishes. I turn off the tap and turn round, turning back to the sink I start to wash the dishes, reaching to turn off the tap again, yes I know I all ready said that but I could still hear the water running. Weird I thought at about the same time as I started to feel a warm sensation form around my feet. I looked down to see a small pool of water coming from the cupboard under the sink.

When I opened the cupboard door I was met by a small water fall falling from the top shelf in the cupboard. Yeps the tube that feeds the hot water tap had burst. I have no idea why I did what I did next but I put my hand around the burst pipe to stop the water. I know, dumb move number 1. After about 10 seconds I realised that my hand was not going to stop the water as it slowly made its way across the kitchen floor towards the passage.

I managed to turn off the hot water at the stop cock and shouted to my wife to call the plumber. I looked down and noticed more water coming from under the sink, this time it was cold water. I looked up, inside the cupboard to see a hole in the cold water pipe. I meen, come on people what are the chances of both the cold and hot water pipe bursting within a couple of minutes of each other, I ask you.

Anywho the pipes have been replaced by the plumber and everything is back to normal. I have to admit I was a tad nervous when I washed the dishes earlier tonight.

Right I need to check on my boys coats and get them in the dryer ready for their first day back at school in the morning.
